Alaskan Bush People’s Bear’s Wife Raiven on How They Overcame Issues

Alaskan Bush People star Raiven Brown (née Adams) opened up about her off-on relationship with her husband, Bear Brown, and how they were able to overcome their marital issues.

In a TikTok posted on Tuesday, March 11, the TLC alum, 27, began her video by saying she’d wanted to talk about her relationship with Bear, 37, for some time but was “more comfortable” talking about it now due to them being in a “good place” in their marriage.

She then read out a comment from a fan, which said, “You are so beautiful and I am so glad that Bear has matured and become such a good husband and good father.”

“I want to firstly say, we have both matured. There was no, like, full 100 percent responsibility for our problems to one person,” she explained. “It was a joint effort. Some people, myself, might say, ‘Other people were a little more challenging,’ but I’m sure he’d say that about me as well.”

Raiven said their relationship improved after they shifted their mindset, focusing less on figuring out “who was at fault” for their problems.

“The only thing that ever solved anything in our relationship was changing our perspective to being against each other to being against the problem,” she continued. “So instead of saying, who’s at fault here, it was, what’s the solution here? … Two people can both be at fault.”

Raiven acknowledged that many people criticized her turbulent relationship with Bear, but she defended their journey, saying their six-month separation after their first child, a son named River, in 2020 ultimately strengthened their marriage.

“We needed to work out those problems separated,” she honestly told her followers. “A lot of the time, we couldn’t come to that healthy place and we didn’t want that to be our son’s environment … That was so good for us. It was sad obviously … That half a year taught us so much. We both had so many changes in our lives at the time and I think that it really gave us the opportunity to see things from a different perspective.”

Raiven and Bear met at his brother Noah Brown’s wedding in August 2018. After Bear got on one knee in August 2019, the pair called off the engagement just one month later. However, things took a turn when Raiven announced she was pregnant just two days after the breakup announcement.

Bear did not attend the birth of their son River as their relationship was on shaky ground at the time. The couple married in January 2020 and briefly separated during her second pregnancy in 2022, but Raiven announced their reconciliation just a week before the arrival of their second child in 2023.

“Happy anniversary to the moon and back,” she wrote via Instagram on January 16, 2023. “First time actually having a date since River haha. We kinda did once, but not really! Thanks for being my movie date.”

The pair welcomed their second son, Cove Gabriel Caden Brown, on January 20, 2023. Their family grew again on August 21, 2024, when Raiven gave birth to a son named Everest Makai Joshua Brown.
