Delta flight arriving from NY evacuated after landing in Tel Aviv over bomb threat: reports

A Delta flight arriving from New York was evacuated Tuesday after landing at Tel Aviv airport over a bomb threat, according to reports.
Passengers were rushed into the terminal at Ben Gurion Airport and investigators searched the plane, the Jerusalem Post reported.
Authorities had received word of an explosive onboard but the threat turned out to be false after the Airbus A330 twin-jet plane was searched.
“The incident has ended with no unusual findings. Operations have returned to normal,” an Israel Airports Authority spokesperson told Ynet.
Delta operates a daily flight connecting JFK Airport and Tel Aviv. The flight left JFK just after 3:30 p.m. Monday and landed in Tel Aviv at around 8:30 a.m. local time.
It’s unclear how many passengers and crew were on board the flight.
The security scare comes almost two weeks after “lone wolf” flydubai co-pilot Hamam al-Hammami allegedly attacked pilot Smit Machchhar and tried to hijack a plane bound for Tel Aviv.
The Post has approached Delta for comment.
