Video shows car crashes into Biden’s motorcade near the president’s campaign headquarters in Delaware
A car crashed into a parked pickup truck that was part of President Joe Biden’s motorcade. The revealing situation occurred near Biden’s campaign headquarters in Delaware and was captured on video.
Secret Service spokesman Steve Kopek told CNN in a statement“Today, at approximately 8:09 p.m., a Secret Service vehicle securing the route of the President’s motorcade was struck by another vehicle in Wilmington, DE. There was no protection interest associated with this event and the President’s motorcade. left without incident.”
cnn reports that the crash was “unintentional” between the car and an SUV in Biden’s motorcade. The media has noted that it was raining in Wilmington at the time of the car accident.
The car accident occurred just outside Biden’s campaign headquarters in Wilmington, Delaware, where the president was greeting staff.
The collision caused a loud bang, which caught the attention of President Biden, who appeared to be visually stunned by the shock. The Secret Service quickly escorted President Biden to his armored presidential vehicle. The Secret Service also made sure that first lady Jill Biden was secured inside the armored vehicle.
WCAU reported: “As Biden walked from the campaign office to his waiting armored SUV, a sedan crashed into a U.S. Secret Service vehicle that was being used to close intersections near the headquarters for the president’s departure. “The sedan then attempted to continue onto a closed street-out of the intersection, before Secret Service personnel surrounded the vehicle with weapons drawn and instructed the driver to put his hands up.”
The Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident.
President Biden’s agenda for the rest of the night was reportedly not affected by the car crash into his motorcade.
