His name was dragged through the mud again. More than two years later Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made the explosive accusation that a senior royal had racist “concerns and conversations” about “how dark Archie’s skin color might be when he was born” in 2019, the Dutch translation of Omid Scobieis the real revealer, game oversupposedly called Kate Middleton and king charles like criminals.
“It was humiliating for Kate that Harry and Meghan [allegedly] accuse her of something so horrible,” says a royal exclusively. In contact, noting that the Sussexes have admitted to sharing information with the author in the past. And between this latest public smear and all the other things his in-laws have said in interviews and in Harry’s memoirs, Replacementsays the source, “no one would blame Kate for never speaking to them again.”
And yet, in a shocking twist that no one saw coming, Kate has done exactly that. “Shortly after the book’s allegations came out, Kate reached out to Meghan to clear the air,” the source says, adding that the phone call actually came at King Charles’ request.
“This dispute has become so unseemly and out of control that it is beginning to overshadow his reign and the entire monarchy. He wants to close the gap once and for all.”
And since William, 41, also refuses to talk to Harry, 39, “Charles forced Kate to become his peacemaker,” the source says.
“She agreed, because when it comes to the royal family, Kate has always taken her duties seriously: she does what she’s told.” Even if it means swallowing her pride. Kate, 41, had previously been criticized by the Sussexes in an interview for making Meghan, 42, cry before her wedding.
In ReplacementHarry alleged that the Princess of Wales “pulled a face” when Meghan asked to borrow her lip gloss and shouted at her sister-in-law for daring to mention her pregnancy hormones.
He even suggested Kate was “nervous” about being compared and competing with Meghan. And in game overKate is accused of being “cold” towards Meghan and “shivering” when her sister-in-law’s name is mentioned.
According game overAlthough Charles, 75, tried to reassure Meghan in his letters that he had “no ill intentions or prejudices” toward Archie, “Kate has avoided discussing the issue with her sister-in-law. “She will never trust them again after all her interviews,” the book states.
The moment of the truth
But Kate made the call anyway. “His conversation with her took four years and obviously wasn’t easy, because who knows what she might end up leaking from her private conversations?” the internal notes. “But Kate apologized to Meghan before and she knew what to say. Her kind words had an impact and they both became very emotional.”
They reluctantly agreed to a truce. “They will never truly see eye to eye, and nothing will change how Meghan feels about the way Kate and the rest of the royals have treated her, but Meghan is estranged from her own father, so she knows how hard it is. “Harry has felt abandoned by his family,” the source says. “She has promised to do everything she can to help. “Both she and Kate want to start over.”
Unfortunately, their husbands are definitely not ready yet, and perhaps never will be. “Kate may have reluctantly put the past behind her out of loyalty to the family,” the source says, “but William will never be able to forgive Harry for the way he threw Kate under the bus.”
The feelings of betrayal are mutual. “Harry is still incredibly hurt by how his brother has ostracized him,” the source says. Harry has publicly demanded an apology from the royal family, “which he’s not likely to get, especially from William,” the source adds.
The future king “wants to distance himself from his brother since Harry’s marriage to Meghan, whom [he] “I didn’t like it from the beginning,” game over reveals, adding that William now considers his brother an “outsider.”
The next phase
Other royal sources point out that the current king actually has a strategic need to hit the reset button.
“The monarchy comes first, it always has been, and if it is threatened, there is a problem. A big problem,” says a source. “The royal family has received a lot of bad press lately, and this is mainly due to the feud between William and Kate and Harry and Meghan.”
Carlos still hopes that his children can at least be civil and royal experts. Nick Bullen has said, adding that “the king, more than anyone, wants to repair relations. The door is always open.”
Especially now that Kate has extended an olive branch to him. “They may have forced her to do it,” the source says, “but in the end, she’s glad she did it. This pettiness has gone on too long, and if it leads to William and Harry being reunited as brothers, Kate won’t regret it. Meghan shouldn’t have any either. “Hopefully, she wants to see William and Harry reconcile as much as everyone else.”
