NYC crash leaves pedestrian dead after two cars run them over in a double hit-and-run in Queens
A pedestrian in Queens was mowed down and killed by two cars – including one that ran over him while he was lying injured on the roadway – before both drivers sped off Sunday night, police said.
The man was hit by one car traveling westbound on Hempstead Avenue near 223rd Street around 8 p.m., and was then mowed down by another car going eastbound on the same avenue as he lay in the street, cops said.
Neither driver remained at the scene.
The man, who is in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering injuries throughout his body, the NYPD said.
The victim’s identity was not yet released as authorities work to inform loved ones.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made as of early Monday morning.
