Around 2:45 a.m. police responded to the 1500th block of West Russell Street, where a truck was traveling north at 80 mph.
The truck drove straight through the intersection of Russell Street and West Avenue straight into a room at a nearby motel. The driver began walking away from the crash and police arrested him, SFPD spokesman Sam Clemens said.
38-year-old Nicholas Gali was arrested for DWI, vehicular battery, three counts of hit and run, driving without insurance and obstruction.
The people inside the building received minor injuries, one person reported a cut to his forehead.
