CIA deputy director’s pro-Palestinian positions and more

Langley Losers

It is outrageous that Amy McFadden, deputy assistant director of analysis at the CIA, posted images of “Free Palestine” on her social media account two weeks after the October 7 massacre (“Hamas’s Fifth Column,” Benjamin Weingarten, PostOpinion, November 30). ).

McFadden betrayed our government and is now compromised.

I bet if former President Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, or Florida Governor Ron DeSantis were president, McFadden would be unseated. At the very least, he should never get his hands on sensitive information again.

I doubt he will face serious consequences under the current administration.

miss education

Model Gigi Hadid grew up with the kind of wealth that should have allowed her to have an education (“The Supermodel Is Very Wrong,” Nov. 28).

That this clearly uneducated model with a staggering number of social media followers could present such false information is alarming.

I suppose access to higher education does not equate to interest in receiving an education.

Time and time again, this girl shows a lack of interest in getting the facts straight. Hadid’s followers clearly aren’t as interested as she is in accessing good information.

After your last post about Israel’s treatment of children and young prisoners, I don’t think there is any effort on your part to find out the truth.

Global warming

If the West Antarctic Ice Sheet were to collapse, it would cause flooding that would affect millions of Americans alone. REDA&CO/Universal Images Group v

Patrick Reilly’s article fails to connect the dots between iceberg A23a and the looming climate crises (“S’thern berg quits chillin’”, November 26).

Last month, Nature Journal warned us that we now have “limited power to prevent ocean warming that could lead to the collapse of the West Antarctic ice sheet.”

Such a loss would cause a rise of about 3 meters in sea level, flooding the homes of 12.3 million people in the United States alone. However, numerous articles on A23a only discuss threats to South Georgia Island’s wildlife and shipping routes.

This allows the fossil fuel industry to continue frying the planet with impunity, rather than being held financially responsible for the harm their products cause.

Security First

The involuntary option is not always the best option, but it can lead to people volunteering for treatment. fake images

I certainly hope Mayor Adams is right about his pilot program to get the seriously mentally ill off the streets and into treatment (“Involuntary Commitment Saves Lives,” editorial, Nov. 30).

As someone who retired after a 40-year career at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health, I wrote numerous Section 12 “pink papers” requiring people to receive health care.

Involuntary commitment is often the first step taken to help tortured minds while improving public safety. Forcing someone to receive care is not always the best option, but it often leads to people voluntarily signing up for treatment. That result also makes us all safer.

California scheming

Hundreds of demonstrators protested the Oakland City Council’s resolution for a ceasefire in Gaza. AP

A group of idiots in California made astonishing claims that Hamas had nothing to do with the October 7 massacre (“Meet the ‘New Truthers’,” editorial, Nov. 30).

They believe that Israel carried out the massacre as an excuse to destroy Gaza.

Here’s some friendly advice: watch your backs. Hamas does not like to be robbed of its limelight.
