NYC taxi driver trapped upside down after cab flips in Manhattan
A Big Apple taxi driver was trapped dangling upside down after his cab crashed and flipped in Manhattan early Tuesday.
The male driver was spotted hanging from his seatbelt inside his wrecked yellow cab after crashing at East 32nd Street and 2nd Avenue in Murray Hill at about 5 a.m., FDNY officials said.
The yellow taxi could be seen lying on its roof in the middle of the street as fire crews worked to free the cabbie, startling photos from the scene show.
At one point, the driver appeared to grimace in pain as first responders inspected the wreckage.
The driver was taken to Bellevue Hospital with reported trauma from the wreck, the FDNY said.
His exact condition wasn’t immediately known, according to officials.
It wasn’t immediately clear how the crash unfolded, or if anyone else was involved.
