Rosie O’Donnell‘s troubled daughter Chelsea O’Donnell has remained behind bars for 10 days following her second drug arrest in a month despite records showing the judge set bond, In Touch can exclusively report.
A rep for the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office tells In Touch that Chelsea, 27, is still in custody as of Monday, October 21.
In Touch obtained court records that show Chelsea went before a judge on October 14, days after her recent October 11 arrest. Chelsea appeared in court via Zoom. The court minutes show that the judge set bond in the amount of $5,000.
The court also ordered Chelsea to maintain sobriety while out on bond and not consume drugs or alcohol. She was also ordered not to have any contact with her codefendant in the case.
Despite the bond being set, Chelsea has yet to come up with the funds to be let out.
As In Touch first reported, Chelsea was first arrested on September 10. Police were called out to Chelsea’s home in Wisconsin and said she had “dilated” pupils.
At the scene, Chelsea tried to get officers to leave but they told her they heard her arguing with a man on the phone. She admitted getting into a fight with her boyfriend, Jacob Nelund.
Chelsea told police that Jacob was inside the home with their 11-month-old son. Police found a meth pipe on Chelsea during a search. Jacob had “dilated” pupils during questioning, according to the police report. Officers found drug paraphernalia on him. Both were placed under arrest.
The police report described officers disgust when entering the home to check on the baby.
“The inside of the home was disgusting; throughout the house I saw rotten food, dirty moldy dishes, milk that stunk so bad it almost made me puke, dirty diapers, used female hygiene products, unclean underwear with feces and blood stains and used razor blades on the floor.”
The officer added, “The living conditions in the house were horrible. I searched in the bathroom and did not find anything of interest. I then assisted with searching that downstairs bedroom that was Chelsea’s and Jacob’s. Deputy Veriha had located a used meth pipe and a gem bag with meth in it.”
The report continued, “Inside the bedroom belonging to Chelsea, where [the baby] was initially found, there was a meth pipe, a gem bag with methamphetamine inside, a marijuana grinder and another container with marijuana shake in it.
Inside the child’s room, officers found several hypodermic needles. The officer wrote, “Some of the needles were used and had dried blood in them. I know that drug users commonly use needs like this to shoot meth into their arms or ‘bang out.’”
Later, during the arrest, Chelsea took out a black vial-type container and a clear plastic bag that contained white pills. The officers said the vial had a white crystal substance he believed to be meth. The officer noted the meth weighed 18 grams. He said the white pills were Alprazolam.
Chelsea was charged with four felony counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, child neglect, possession of methamphetamine and possession of THC on September 17.
Chelsea posted bond and was released. A couple of weeks later, Chelsea was arrested by police after being pulled over for a traffic stop.
Court documents revealed that during the traffic stop, Chelsea allegedly tried to throw a meth pipe into a river to try and hide it from the police. The officer said the pipe hit a fence and bounced back. Officers also found needles in a center console of the car but Chelsea said they belonged to the man she was with. Chelsea was transported to a hospital where they found meth and various pills on her body.
A court date has been set for next month in both cases.
