It was revealed that Amber has a new man in her life in January 2024. “His name is Gary. She met him on a dating app four months ago,” an insider explained to Us Weekly. “They are taking their time getting to know each other, but it’s getting serious.”
Not much is known about Gary, though he is said to be in his 30’s and doesn’t have kids of his own. However, the source explained that he is “very family-oriented” and helps take care of his parents.
How Long Has Teen Mom’s Amber Been Dating Boyfriend Gary?
The insider explained that the pair have been seeing each other for a few months, while Gary lives near Amber in her hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Unlike many of Amber’s ex-boyfriends, Gary has never watched her on the MTV franchise. “All the guys Amber has dated before she met on social media and were fans of the show,” the source shared. “This new man in her life has actually never seen Teen Mom so she feels she can finally date in the way she’s always wanted to.”
Gary made his debut on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter during the June 6, 2024, episode, with Amber formally introducing him to her costars as her “boyfriend” during a group Zoom call. “We are now officially a couple,” she added.
“Hello everybody. My name is actually Gary believe it or not,” her man said, joking that Amber’s ex is also named Gary.
“Maybe this is the Gary for you,” cast member Jade Cline said. Amber replied, “It seems like it.”

Us Weekly reported on June 7, 2024, that Amber and her boyfriend had decided to take their relationship to the next step with an engagement. A source told the publication that a proposal happened “within the last two weeks,” adding that the Teen Mom star’s ring was crafted from “a family stone that was reset into a new ring.”
“She’s really, really happy,” the insider said.
The source continued, “They’ve been in couple’s therapy and talk about everything. They’re being very proactive in their relationship and are doing the work to prevent problems before they start.”
Amber has not publicly confirmed that she and Gary are engaged.
