DeSantis mocks those who focus on his boots: ‘This is no time for foot fetishes’, America faces serious problems
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis responded to some online who focus on his height and the boots he wears, saying America has serious issues it’s dealing with that are bigger than his “foot fetishes.” .
DeSantis made the comments during an interview with Newsmax’s Eric Bolling on Thursday night after some of the Republican presidential candidate’s opponents have become obsessed with his boots in recent days.
“There are people who get you, people who just want to sit down and talk about how tall you are, if you’re wearing boots with heel extenders on the inside,” Bolling said. “I mean, governor, the southern border is a disaster, terrorists are crossing the border. We have two wars we’re funding and they want to talk about your height. Answer please.”
“Look Eric, this is no time for foot fetishes,” DeSantis said. “We have serious problems as a country. We have war in the Middle East, we have terrorists crossing our own southern border, we have an American dream that is out of reach for millions of Americans because of Bidenflation and high energy prices. “We have schools that indoctrinate children and do not educate them, and we have cities that are being invaded by crime.”
“I know people want to try to deviate to other topics,” he continued. “I know Donald Trump and a lot of his people have focused on things like footwear. I’ll tell you this, if Donald Trump can muster up the balls to show up for the debate, I’ll put a boot on my head.”
He said the most important thing was “substance” and that the American people deserved to see which candidate is best to move the country forward.
“And the question is: are you capable of fighting for them? What we have done in Florida. Are you able to win those fights? We have been able to in Florida,” he concluded. “And are you capable of leading a better tomorrow? “We have done it in Florida and we will do it in the United States of America.”
