12 injured when MTA bus crashes into NYC sanitation truck in Bronx: cops
A dozen people were injured when an MTA bus collided with a Big Apple sanitation truck Wednesday night in the Bronx, according to police.
The crash happened shortly after 9 p.m. at the intersection of Hunts Point Avenue and Bruckner Boulevard in the Longwood neighborhood when the bus T-boned the garbage truck, police said, based on preliminary information.
Five people were taken to Lincoln Hospital and another seven were brought to St. Barnabas Hospital, cops said.
All the victims were in stable condition. It’s unclear how many people were on the bus.
Photos from the scene showed the front of the MTA bus was badly damaged and the door of the garbage truck dangling.
No arrests were made and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Bus service for that route was running on delays due to the crash.
