Speed eater inhales two pounds of hot sauce in seconds: world record
He demonstrated “blistering” speed.
A culinary daredevil blazed a new Guinness World Record after devouring over two pounds of hot sauce in just three minutes — and he’s going viral over his feat of intestinal fortitude.
“A lot of people say, ‘Your butt must burn a lot after you did that challenge,’” supersonic gobbler Mike Jack told Guinness.
The gravel-gutted Canadian has become renowned for shattering multiple speed eating records, notably nabbing the gold for fastest time to drink a Capri Sun with a paper straw — something he accomplished in 21.71 seconds.
For his recent sweat-inducing stunt, the serial slurper decided to eclipse the erstwhile high-water mark for most hot sauce eaten within three minutes.
Jack prepared for the challenge by dumping two bottles of Sriracha in a bowl, before whipping out a utensil.
“Let’s do this,” the courageous Canuck declares, before spooning up the crimson condiment at a breakneck pace while his wife/coach Jamie cheers him on.
By the end of the three minutes, Jack consumed two pounds and seven ounces of the fiery gloop.
In doing so, he more than tripled the previous world record of 300 grams.
“That’s more than I thought I would do,”confessed the stunt slurper. “I’m glad I beat this record ‘cause that was a nasty one. That was rough on the body, for sure.”
Jack explained in the video that was able to make the hot sauce go down easier by imagining it was pumpkin pie — his favorite food.
One might think that inhaling that amount of hot sauce would wreak gastrointestinal havoc, but Jack insisted that he’s never suffered from a blazing saddle.
“I’ve actually never experienced burn-butt before..It’s my super power, I guess,” mused the extreme eater.
The fire-eater was smart to reach for Sriracha and not a sauce infused with PepperX, which is the world’s spiciest chili.
In fact, Jack likely steeled his stomach through the myriad capsaicin-rich eating challenges he regularly performs and uploads to his Youtube channel, Mike Jack Eats Heat!.
In a video posted today, this veritable “Jackass” of gastronomy could be observed housing 40 Carolina reaper peppers — the second hottest on earth, after the aforementioned PepperX.
