Rounds leads Bengs at 8%, Trump approval down

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Eight points separate Independent candidate Brian Bengs and incumbent Republican Mike Rounds for one of South Dakota’s U.S. Senate seats, according to a new poll from KELOLAND News.

KELOLAND worked with long-time partner Emerson College on a poll that surveyed 803 likely South Dakota voters and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5%.

The poll shows 50% of the voters support Rounds while 42% support Bengs. Eight percent of the voters are undecided. The 50% to 42% split is how voters would vote that day and if they had already voted, who they voted for.

The survey was conducted on Oct. 19 and 20 and includes results from the governor’s race, presidential approval rating, constitutional amendments and two issues for voters. Absentee voting is underway in South Dakota and Election Day is set for Nov. 3.
