One dead, one hospitalized in shooting at Sioux Falls. The 3rd homicide at that apartment complex this year!

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – One person is dead and another was sent to the hospital after a shooting in an apartment complex at 43rd Street and Larch Avenue in Sioux Falls.

According to police, authorities were dispatched to 43rd and Larch around 5:00 am on Tuesday, November 4, for a weapons violation.

Witnesses reported that two people were shot, and that the suspect had run out of the apartment building.

One of the victims died on the scene, and the other victim was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was reported to still be in the area, leading authorities to close Marion Road between 41st and 44th Street, as well as 41st Street between Marion Road and Cambridge Avenue.

The suspect was located in a building in the area.

Since he was armed, SFPD called out the Emergency Response team, SWAT, and CNU.

A little after 8:30 am, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect’s name has not been released, and it is confirmed that all people involved in the incident knew each other.

This is the 11th Homicide in Sioux Falls, and the 3rd homicide at that apartment complex this year.
