Mormon Wives’ Jessi Recalls Police Being Called to Her Halloween Party

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 is packed with drama, including a police visit to Jessi Ngatikaura’s house. During an exclusive video interview with In Touch, Jessi recalls her thought process when cops got involved in her Halloween party.

“That was crazy,” Jessi, 32, exclusively tells In Touch while promoting season 2 of the Hulu show. “I felt so bad because we had just moved into that neighborhood a couple months earlier and I didn’t know any of my neighbors yet, so I was like, ‘Oh, great. This is our introduction into the neighborhood.’ They’re going to think we’re crazy. Cops are getting called.”

Jessi adds, “I know that there were a lot of rumors the next few weeks of what happened, and my neighbors were all whispering. So I was just embarrassed.”

During episode 2, Taylor Frankie Paul’s now ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen confronted Chase McWhorter after Taylor, 30, claimed Chase hit on her while he was still married to Miranda McWhorter.

“Did anything happen outside of spin the bottle? No. Everyone in the world thinks I f–ked her,” Chase – who was previously involved in the swinging scandal alongside Taylor, her ex-husband, Tate Paul, and Miranda, 27 – told Dakota, 32. “When Taylor first went online, I hadn’t told my parents at this point, and again, I’m a returned missionary. Married in the temple. So, I hadn’t told them that I had left the church.”

After Taylor saw the two men interacting, she got involved in the conversation that quickly turned into an argument. The fight continued into episode 3, where Miranda kicked Chase out of the party. Chase walked off to find his girlfriend, and Taylor yelled at Dakota for leaving the party with Chase.

Inside of the party, Demi Engemann told her husband, Bret Engemann, that “Chase laid his hands on her” when she tried to de-escalate the fight and he immediately sprinted outside to confront Chase.

“What the f–k are you doing? Did you just touch my wife?” Bret, 47, told Chase, and he demanded that he apologize to Demi, 30.

Jessi’s husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, got involved in the conflict when he confronted Chase and demanded he “take ownership” for his actions and kicked him out of the party. As the drama played out both inside and out of the home, a neighbor overheard the drama and called the cops.

Also during the interview, Jessi reveals why she invited Miranda, Chase and his new girlfriend to the party despite their strained relationship with Taylor.

“I had only met Chase one time before that, so I didn’t know how he was. I had heard things, but he’s dating my good friend, so I was like, I invited her, she’s going to bring him so I can’t uninvite my friend,” Jessi explains. “So I was kind of put in a weird situation, but I truly thought we could all be adults. I’m like, it’s just, it’ll be fine. They’ll just avoid each other. I couldn’t have been more wrong.”
