Miranda Lambert Ditching Booze ‘To Go Ahead and Start a Family’ With Husband Brendan McLoughlin Miranda Lambert Ditching Booze ‘To Go Ahead and Start a Family’ (EXCL)
Miranda Lambert’s idea of a good time was lounging back with a beer, but now that she’s yearning to have a baby, she’s finding the habit hard to kick and it’s making her grouchy, a source exclusively tells In Touch.
The singer’s penchant for a pint is no secret as the insider says, “She loves to unwind with a beer or three and she’s been known to down tequila, too.” Miranda, 40, even cheered her country icon award win at the 2024 People’s Choice Country Music Awards, quipping that her journey to “icon” status has been made with “a lot of years, tears, beers and Tito’s.”
No one is shaming the Texan tunester for kicking back a drink when she pleases, especially to celebrate the enormous success she’s had during her 23-year career in the industry, but the source notes she’s keen that “she can’t do that and get pregnant at the same time.”
“She really wants to be a mom, but some favorite pastimes have got to go and that’s the problem,” the insider tells.
The country star, 40, was previously married to fellow musician Blake Shelton from May 2011 to July 2015. Their marriage ended in heartbreak after it was rumored his relationship with now-wife Gwen Stefani drove a wedge between the couple.
They divorced without having any children, but now the “Mama’s Broken Heart” singer has decided it’s time to become a mama herself with her current husband, Brendan McLoughlin.
A second source previously confirmed to In Touch that the three-time Grammy-winner is “happy now,” with ex cop Brendan, 32, “and he’s piling on the charm, they’re enjoying romantic time and rekindling the spark and having a good, sexy time with lots of lavish dinners, sightseeing and fun hotel romps.”
That source even noted that, following their romantic vacation in Italy, “baby-making is now the priority.”
“She definitely wants to go ahead and start a family with Brendan, ideally biologically, but she’s willing to go the surrogate route also,” that insider revealed.
With preparations underway – both the fun-sort and not-so-fun-sort – Miranda has taken to clearing out her place of any temptation that could hurt their chances of conceiving.
“She doesn’t want booze in the house and that means her hubby, Brendan, can’t drink either,” the first source adds, “so they’re both feeling the drought.”
Reflecting back on her life and career with People, the country singer said she was “very honored” to be recognized at the People’s Choice Country Music Awards.
“I just still feel like I have so much more to do and so many more things to accomplish, but then I look back, and I’m like, I started in this business at 17 and I’m only 40, but dang, I really did do a lot,” she said.
She added that she’s “just getting started,” though, “I’m more inspired than I have been in a long time, to be honest with you.”
Without a doubt, an addition to her family with Brendan would provide new challenges – and inspiration – for the musician.
The source continues: “Of course, if she does get pregnant, and they’re certainly trying, she’ll be the happiest mama-to-be and then all this self-sacrifice will be worth it.”
