Lil Wayne Demands Ex-Bodyguard Suing Him Submit to Mental Exam
Lil Wayne demanded his ex-bodyguard accusing him of assault sit for a medical examination conducted by a board-certified psychiatrist after the man claimed he suffered from emotional distress, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Lil Wayne (real name: Dwayne Carter) and his legal team asked that Christian Carlos be ordered to submit to an independent medical examination.
Lil Wayne, 42, said the exam will consist of a clinical interview, a mental status examination, and appropriate, generally accepted standardized psychological testing and screening cognitive assessment.
The rapper’s legal team said no physical exam will be conducted on Christian. Lil Wayne argued the exam was necessary since Christian “has unequivocally placed his mental condition” at the center of the case by seeking damages for alleged emotional distress.
In addition, he asked the court to award him $4,475 in sanctions for Christian ignoring requests to sit for an exam thus far.
A judge has yet to rule on the request. As In Touch previously reported, Christian sued Lil Wayne in December 2023 over an alleged incident that took place at the rapper’s home in December 2021.
Christian claimed Lil Wayne committed a battery against him when he punched him on his ear while holding a semiautomatic rifle.
In his lawsuit, Christian claimed that Lil Wayne “who has a prior history of firearm related crimes, while holding a semiautomatic rifle, pointed it” at him “as a threat to touch [Carlos] (i.e., with bullets) in a harmful or offensive manner.”
He added that it reasonably appeared to him that Lil Wayne “was about to carry out the threat.”
At the time, TMZ reported that Christian called the police on the entertainer. No charges were ever brought against either party over the incident.
Christian’s lawsuit demanded unspecified damages for his alleged physical and emotional injuries.
His suit read, “[Wayne] acted with malice when he engaged in conduct which [Wayne] intended to cause [Carlos] injury or, alternately, despicable conduct [Wayne] carried on with a willful and conscious disregard of [Carlos’] right and safety; this conduct includes waving a semiautomatic rifle at [Carlos] and punching [Carlos] in the head.”
Lil Wayne denied all allegations of wrongdoing. He denied that Christian suffered any injuries due to him.
He said that the bodyguard’s claims were barred due to Christian’s own negligence.
Further, Lil Wayne argued that his actions were done in self-defense. As In Touch first reported, Lil Wayne is fighting a separate lawsuit brought by his ex-assistant.
Back in 2022, the musician’s ex-assistant Andrew Williams sued Lil Wayne, Young Money Entertainment and Signature Flight Support.
Andrew demanded unspecified damages for alleged assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, wrongful termination and negligence.
In his lawsuit, Andrew claimed he tried to intervene in an argument between Lil Wayne and a pilot aboard a private jet on June 20, 2022. He claimed Lil Wayne became upset that he tried to intervene and punched him.
Lil Wayne denied all allegations of wrongdoing. He once again argued self-defense as part of his attempt to dismiss the suit.
