Judge Approves Rocky Star Carl Weathers’ Sons Splitting 6-Figure Estate

Late Rocky star Carl Weathers’ sons will be paid out a six-figure sum each after a judge approved the estate’s final report, In Touch can exclusively report.

According to court documents obtained by In Touch, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge signed off on the administrator’s report on Thursday, January 2.

The judge’s signature was required before Carl’s sons could receive their inheritance. Carl died on February 2, 2024, at the age of 76. The actor drafted a will in 1988 and amended the will in 2014.

The court appointed an administrator to comb through Carl’s finances and determine the value and any debts. The court-appointed official worked for months.

The final report noted that there were no creditor’s claims filed against the estate, or any outstanding taxes owed. The administrator listed the total value of the estate as $870,053.83, with $774,000 in cash.

Carl left behind two bank accounts totaling $147,000, a 2018 GMC pickup Truck, with only 19,000 miles on it, worth $58,000 and safe deposit boxes with a substantial amount of cash inside. The administrator said Carl held $664,000 in cash inside various boxes. The beneficiaries of Carl’s estate were listed as his two sons, Matthew and Jason Weathers.

Matthew and Jason are the cotrustees of the Carl Weathers Living Trust established by their father. “There have been no sales, purchases or exchanges of assets, nor any changes in the form of assets. The estate is solvent,” the final report stated.

The administrator signed off on the report and the administrator’s request for $20,000 in fees.

At the time of his death, Carl’s family released a statement praising him and his success.

It read, “Carl was an exceptional human being who lived an extraordinary life. Through his contributions to film, television, the arts and sports, he has left an indelible mark and is recognized worldwide and across generations. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather, partner and friend.”
