James Kennedy’s Arrest Was ‘Misunderstanding,’ Still With Girlfriend

James Kennedy and his girlfriend, Ally Lewber, are still together after his recent arrest for misdemeanor domestic violence and sources tell In Touch that the whole thing was a big “misunderstanding.”

James’ lawyers, Scott Leemon and Leonard Levine, told In Touch, “We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James. We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that after careful review, the City Attorney’s Office will decide not to file formal charges.”

Sources close to the situation tell In Touch that the person who called the police on Tuesday, December 10, the night that James, 32, was taken into custody, was a neighbor and NOT Ally. The source told In Touch that James and Ally are “fine” and “completely together.”

As In Touch previously reported, James was arrested on Tuesday after cops were called to his L.A. pad about an argument between a man and a woman. TMZ reported that officers did not see any visible injuries on the alleged victim. Ally was not named by police as the woman but she was with James at an event hours before.

James was released after posting a $20,000 bond. For his part, James has kept a low profile since being released from jail and has yet to speak out.

The arrest comes days after Bravo announced it was recasting the cast of Vanderpump Rules for season 12.

“What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again,” producer Alex Baskin said. “With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can’t wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of co-workers and friends make their way through life together.”

James’ costar LaLa Kent wrote about the news, “Where to begin. I was a young girl from Salt Lake City who made her way to L.A. I would introduce myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend referred to me as Lala, my nickname quickly stuck. Sur was a place that became home. I found myself not only sipping on vodka sodas there, but behind a hostess stand… it still to this day is the most intimidating job I’ve ever had.”

She added, “A short time later the opportunity to be on a show called Vanderpump Rules landed in front of me. I have such mixed feelings right now. It’s no secret I do not like change. This is the exception.”

Ariana Madix commented, “Vanderpump rules, you will forever be that girl. I was up til 4am looking for all the right pics and the right words, but there’s no post or caption that could ever encapsulate everything. i am forever grateful to have been a part of such an incredible cultural phenomenon.”

As In Touch first reported, James costar Tom Sandoval recently told the court he would be representing himself in a separate lawsuit brought by Raquel Leviss over alleged invasion of privacy. Raquel accused Tom and Ariana of sharing explicit videos of her that Tom had allegedly screen recorded from their FaceTime chats without telling her. Ariana and Tom have denied all allegations of wrongdoing. The case is ongoing.
