Scott Presler announces he will primary John Thune!

In an escalating battle over federal election rules, conservative grassroots organizer Scott Presler has launched an all-out pressure campaign against Republican leadership, declaring “war mode” to force the passage of the SAVE America Act ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

For 200 consecutive days, Presler has publicly targeted Senate Majority Leader John Thune, demanding that the Republican Senate caucus unite to pass the sweeping election integrity measure. The proposed legislation—which would mandate strict voter ID and documentary proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections—faces an urgent timeline, with conservative activists warning that time is rapidly running out for new requirements to take effect before voters head to the polls in 2026.

Presler’s campaign reached a dramatic turning point as he issued an explicit ultimatum to top Senate Republicans. Drawing a hard line in the sand, Presler announced that he is prepared to lead a primary challenge against both Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and Senator James Lankford (R-OK) if they fail to send the bill to President Donald Trump’s desk.

Declaring that “no Senator is invulnerable—peacefully,” Presler vowed to mobilize conservative voters to defeat any Republican senator who blocks or delays the measure.

“I promise to help defeat ANY Republican Senator that blocks the SAVE America Act,” Presler warned. “If Senate Majority Leader Thune does not do his job to caucus his Republican majority to pass the SAVE America Act, he will have a Texas-sized primary in 2028. I promise to lead the charge to primary & defeat him.”

With pressure mounting and conservative grassroots groups demanding immediate action, the ball is now squarely in the Senate’s court as activists urge Republican leaders to bring the bill to the floor and force a vote.
