NANCY GUTHRIE’S KIDNAPPING ALLEGED RANSOM NOTE …DEMANDING BIG $$$ IN BITCOIN

PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. – The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Tuesday that investigators are examining reports of a possible ransom note connected to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of “TODAY” show host Savannah Guthrie.

In a post on X, the department said it is “aware of reports circulating about possible ransom note(s)” and emphasized that all information related to the case is being treated seriously. Officials said any tips or leads received are being forwarded directly to detectives, who are working in coordination with the FBI.

According to information received by media outlets, an alleged ransom note surfaced Tuesday morning demanding a multi-million-dollar payment in Bitcoin in exchange for Guthrie’s release. The message reportedly specifies a particular Bitcoin address and includes a deadline along with an implied threat if the demand is not met.

The authenticity of the note has not been confirmed by law enforcement, but the listed Bitcoin address has been verified as active. The alleged message also references damage to an item at Guthrie’s Tucson-area home.

The purported ransom demand has been forwarded to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for further investigation.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing Sunday. Authorities have classified her disappearance as an abduction, and homicide detectives have been assigned to the case.

Investigators continue to ask anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
