SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A Sioux Falls man is behind bars for multiple charges, including kidnapping.
According to Sioux Falls Police Spokesman Sgt. Aaron Benson, officers were notified by the victim’s mother, who saw concerning messages between her 11-year-old daughter and a male on social media.
The investigation found the victim went over to the man’s house Wednesday evening, and the man took her back to her house the next day. Police say he allegedly engaged in sexual contact with the girl in that time.
Officers arrested Elijaeh Simon, 18, Thursday afternoon at his residence near West Innovation Street and North Career Avenue. Simon has been charged with kidnapping, resisting arrest, fleeing police and obstructing law enforcement.
Simon is expected to make his first court appearance later today
