SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — A stolen gun was used to kill one woman and injure another in a Western Sioux Falls homicide Tuesday morning.

Fear grows after 3rd homicide at SF apartment complex
Court documents say Kray Cleveland Bluebird, 18, stole a .22 caliber AR rifle and a revolver from a pickup truck that was parked in a parking lot a few blocks away from the Meadowland Apartments. Video evidence shows the gun was used during the early morning shooting.

Sioux Falls Police Department Detective Sgt. Cole German said Bonita Keeble, 43, died in the shooting. Bluebird is facing a number of charges, including three counts of murder in the first degree, three counts of attempted murder in the first degree, two counts of attempted robbery in the first degree, three counts of attempted burglary first degree and grand theft.

Stolen AR rifle
Upon searching an apartment connected to one of the suspects involved, police found a .22 caliber AR rifle hidden under a mattress. While also using cell phone data, investigators believe the .22 caliber AR rifle located in an apartment next to the one where the shooting happened was the gun used.

Police used the serial number to call the owner of .22 caliber AR rifle believed to be used in the shooting. The owner of the AR rifle told police he was unaware he was missing his .22 caliber rifle, according to court documents.

The owner of the rifle said he had the guns on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. On Monday, Nov. 3, the owner of the rifle said he noticed his truck “looked like it had been rummaged through, but he did not notice his firearms were missing from the back seat,” court documents say.

Court documents also say gunshots were heard earlier Tuesday morning and two juveniles said they found a rifle “near the river,” one of which was used in the shooting.

An autopsy on the victim showed death by a gunshot wound on the pelvis.
